In Greene County district court Donald Shannon Fishburn, 53, of Jefferson was sentenced Dec. 8 to six days in jail with credit for time served after he pleaded guilty to a charge of eluding or attempting to elude. He was fined $430 with a $64.50 surcharge. The court found him unable to pay court costs or restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Haleigh Marie Conover, 33, of Montezuma was sentenced to four days in jail after she pleaded guilty to a charge of operating a vehicle without owner’s consent. The jail term was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She was fined $855 with a $128.25 surcharge; both were suspended. Court costs were $142.50. Persons pleaded not guilty to charges as follows: Scott Craig Raymond, 39, of Coralville, driving while license barred and theft- second degree against older individual; and Ashleigh Dawn Messer, 36, of Perry, theft- first degree. A trial date was set for Jan. 27 for Raymond and Feb. 16 for Messer.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Melanie Marie Smith, 25, of Jefferson, possession of methamphetamine and gathering where controlled substances are used; Elijah Patrick Fineran, 23, of Denison, identity theft less than $1,500; and Gary Eugene Grundon, 62, of Grand Junction, possession of contraband in correctional institution.
